The Consortium of Sicilian Olive Oil Producers was founded in 2001 from a strategic alliance between Manfredi Barbera & Figli S.p.A., the Palermo Olive Growers Association and the Consortium of Sicano Oil. This important agreement brings together key players in the Sicilian olive oil industry and creates a direct connection between the producer and the consumer. More than 10,000 olive growers belong to the Consortium, 40% of whom are members of the Palermo Olive Growers Association, 40% of the Consortium of Sicano Oil and the remaining 20% already associated with Manfredi Barbera & Figli S.p.A.
The olives are sent off to a network of more than 25 oil mills located mainly in the provinces of Palermo, Agrigento and Trapani. The finished product is stored in four warehouse centres and then packaged in three facilities located predominantly in Custonaci and Palermo.
